Teen Core Series: Improv Basics

A 4-week teen program offering a fun-filled start into the core skills that are necessary for good improvisation.

Teen Core Series: Improv Basics

Are you a teen that is interested in improv but don’t know where to start? You have arrived at the right place. Teen Improv Basics is the first of VTS’s Teen Core classes that help teens learn the important basics of improv. Whether you want to learn improv skills to be on Saturday Night Live or you want to learn them so you can be better at speaking in groups, the ability to confidently communicate your ideas is a very valuable skill. The improv tools learned in this class are transferable to all aspects of your life.

In this lively and supportive class (8 hours spread over four weeks), you will learn how to work as a team, how to be a good listener, how to build on the ideas of others and how to confidently express your own ideas. You’ll learn how to relax to allow your creative ideas to flow, and along the way you will laugh (a lot) and make new friends. Sound fun? It is! Come play.

This class is open to ages 13-17. Please note that there is no performance element to this class. Class takes place in the ICI Studio. There are no pre-requisites for this class. The maximum number of students in this class is 14.
