Grounded with Lauren McGibbon

Lauren McGibbon will lead you through an intensive workshop showing each student how to perform with authenticity, honesty and bravery.

Grounded with Lauren McGibbon

Often times we improvisers are given the note to be grounded in our character and our scenes, but what does that even mean? Lauren McGibbon will introduce you to techniques and exercises learned through 12 plus years of improv and acting training to break down the nerves, get connected to your breath, enhance your voice, set an intention, be bold in your choices and perform in a whole new way.

This intensive workshop will start with a crash course in breath and vocal technique to ensure you are connected to your instrument. Followed by classic acting warm ups and exercises from Chekhov, Stanislavsky, Meisner and more. Integrating open scene-work with the mornings exercises, Lauren will provide notes and challenge students to bring realism to the absurd.

Every improviser brings their own personalities and experiences to the stage. This intensive workshop will show each student how to perform with authenticity, honesty and bravery.
