“I honestly think that these Gen Z kids might actually save the world.”
Vancouver – One of the cool things about what we get to do through our Team Building Workshops is connecting with inspiring people and teams.
This was the second summer in a row we had the opportunity to host the SHAD students here at The Improv Centre, designing a session focused on collaboration and communication skills, unleashing creativity and innovation, tips on being a supportive, empathetic teammate and embracing the unexpected.
And it was the second year in a row this group blew us away with their self-awareness, genuine curiosity, willingness to engage, to support each other, to amplify and expand on ideas, to embrace and redefine failure in the setting we created, and to say “yes” without hesitation.
There was a lot of shared laughter, connecting and creating during the two hours Graeme and Bill Pozzobon (the other facilitator leading the session) spent with the group.
Every summer, through the SHAD program, hundreds of high schoolers (about 900 in all) gather across the country to go on a journey of discovery, learning about themselves and the world around them. We love being one small part of that journey.
SHAD’s focus is on empowering these exceptional students – at a pivotal point in their education – to recognize their own capabilities and envision their extraordinary potential as tomorrow’s leaders and change makers (copied from their website).

A quote from this piece that stood out:
“SHAD is designed to not only be the best month of your life, but it will be the best month FOR your life”
Thanks to Rebecca, one of the organizers, for her work putting this together.
