Vancouver, BC – Our Empathy in the Workplace workshops have been going very well, and have been very popular with our clients here at Vancouver TheatreSports, as we highlight how empathy helps in the workplace.
Empathy Workshops have been designed for clients from a wide range of sectors, including tech, retail, financial, real estate, local non-profits, the educational sector and several municipal and federal government departments.
After working on the design of these workshops, we started offering them a little over a year ago, as more and more of our clients and the marketplace noted the value in specifically focusing on the area of empathy.
Over the years we’ve traditionally designed sessions focused on Collaboration and Communication, building stronger teams with our customized Team Building Activities, Creativity and Innovation workshops, Presentation Skills and Storytelling workshops (storytelling for engineers, storytelling for sales professionals, storytelling for marketing teams…you get the idea), impactful communications for managers, Diversity and Inclusion Workshops and others.
All of these sessions, irrespective of the theme, have a foundation of being a really unique team building experience, creating an opportunity for a group to share a lot of laughter together, create meaningful stories that become a part of the group’s culture and produce connectivity they otherwise wouldn’t in another setting or activity.
Our Empathy in the Workplace workshops have proven to be very impactful at any stage of a team’s evolution – whether the core has been together for 10 years, or 10 minutes. We have been fortunate to connect with groups that are very new, as they’ve been brought together to either start a new project, or they’re a new group of interns starting with a tech company, or a post-graduate co-hort starting a new term.
In virtually every scenario within a team. The group is going to made up of individuals from different backgrounds, cultures, generations and perspectives. Our Empathy in the Workplace workshops show attendees how to immerse themselves in someone else’s story and see situations from their perspective. We provide real, practical strategies that can be applied immediately that create respect for the differences amongst a group, an understanding of a teammates perspective that might be different than yours, and how to work together by valuing and accepting the ideas and opinions of others (and in turn, knowing they will do the same to you).
