Empathy Workshops – Vancouver TheatreSports
Empathy in the Workplace
Over the past year we’ve been designing more Empathy Workshops for our clients – as empathy in the workplace becomes more and more a front-burner topic for HR departments and management.
These sessions focus on increasing an organization’s, or specific teams, ability to collaborate and innovate while respecting and appreciating everyone’s uniqueness.
They’re about discovering how to increase empathy towards each other and appreciating diversity as a strength, while producing more efficient and creative teams.
(If you’re looking to combine an Empathy Workshop with a Team Building Workshop, we can definitely design that for your group).
For the most part, we all have a basic understanding of what empathy is, and if asked, could describe what it is not. What we focus on is what empathy looks like in practice, as part of day-to-day interactions, decision-making and overall company culture.
Attendees will learn to immerse themselves in someone else’s story, the capacity to imagine how someone else is feeling and see things from another’s perspective, to respect each other’s differences and uniqueness, how accepting and valuing the ideas of others plays a vital role in being empathetic, and creating a supportive, psychologically safe environment for everyone.
It’s important to note that these are not comedy workshops. The session will be a collaborative experience that takes your group through a series of proven, improv-based activities in a comfortable, safe setting.
There is always a lot of shared laughter, fun and team bonding, but with lasting takeaways.
