Rent The Improv Centre for your next staged presentation, reception, meeting, or fundraiser. Seating up to 186, our modern theatre features a raised stage and a mixture of traditional seating and cabaret tables and chairs. Our fully-licensed Neal Macrae Bar and Lounge is available for you to use, with stunning views of the water that will wow your guests.

The Improv Centre is located at the entrance to Granville Island (1502 Duranleau Street), across from Kids Only Market, at the south end of the Granville Street Bridge. A top Vancouver tourist destination, Granville Island is home to the Public Market, artisans’ studios, restaurants and theatres, providing a colourful and vibrant backdrop to your next event.

Featuring a 186 seat theatre with a mixture of traditional theatre seating and cabaret-style tables and chairs. Also with a fully licensed bar and lounge with picture perfect views overlooking the Granville Island Marina, the Improv Centre is the perfect choice for staged presentations or conference events.

RENTAL RATES:

RENTAL FEATURES: •   • Includes facility fee based on meeting, conference (additional fees apply for a public performance) • Rates do not include public show or access to the greem room, dressing room, box office, or bar service. • Includes house technician and audience service manager (additional staff may be required) • Includes one hour of meeting time, prior to your event to discuss tech requirements and event needs  • Insurance is required for all rentals Rental Rate of the BAR • The Vancouver TheatreSports League reserves the right to control the sale or distribution of refreshments.  We welcome beverages to be consumed in the Theatre.  Bar service is provided at the request of the renter.   The cost for Bar Service is: • 4 hour rental is $200, which is waived if/when bar sales exceed $400 (in gross sales, including HST). • Additional hours are charged at $150 per hour or portion thereof.     THEATRE: Our theatre features three versatile seating types: • 120 Traditional Theatre Seats (with cup holders) • 18 Banquet bench Seats (with bar rail) • 48 Cabaret style Seats The maximum theatre capacity is 186 people.         NEIL MACRAE BAR & LOUNGE: Featuring: • A full service licensed bar • 4 High top Tables • 28 Leather bar stools • A covered waterfront patio with outdoor flexible seating. • Dimmable lighting • High ceilings • Sound system • Bright and Airy layout • Off-site catering can be arranged by renter • 2 flat-screen TVs         FUND WITH LAUGHTER: A unique fundraising program designed as a simple way to organize an event to raise funds for school groups, charity organizations, sports teams, and the like. Vancouver TheatreSports will provide you with a pre-packaged event – all you have to do is sell the pre-printed tickets at your chosen price point.
