Dan Dumsha

  • Joined VTSL: 2010 (Rookie League), 2012 (Mainstage)
  • Dan is a graduate of Queen’s University’s Drama program (BA,H) and Artist in the Community Education program (B.Ed)
  • Before moving to BC, Dan taught drama and improv at the Claude Watson Program for the Arts with the Toronto District School Board.
  • Spent a year (2015-16) in New York City doing improv
  • Received 2015 UCB (Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre) Diversity Fellowship in New York City

ICI instructor bio:

Dan is a graduate of Queen’s University’s Drama program (BA,H) and Artist in the Community Education program (B.Ed) where he learned to be an artist who teaches. Before moving to BC, Dan taught drama and improv at the Claude Watson Program for the Arts with the Toronto District School Board. Dan performs and teaches improv with Vancouver TheatreSports™ League, The Fictionals, and QueerProv. Dan performed in the 2010 Olympic opening ceremonies, has co-hosted OutlookTV on Shaw for four years, and writes a blog about improv called Wait, a Moment! Many of his characters are based on Merle Streep’s movie roles.

Dan Dumsha is proud to call Vancouver TheatreSports League his home. Dan trained in improv at Queen’s University, with The Bobbers, and three seasons with the VTSL Rookie League. Dan likes sushi, the beach, and living in the moment.
