Vancouver
TheatreSports
League is proud
to announce
our new home!
The
Executive Director of Vancouver TheatreSports, Jay Ono, was
pleased to announce that the Vancouver TheatreSports
League (VTSL) will be moving to a new home in the New Year.
After years of success at the New Revue Stage, VTSL will
continue to bring laughter to audiences on Granville Island in a
new space in the Marine Building (1502 Duranleau Street - near
the entrance to the island).
Located right on the water, the Vancouver TheatreSports League
is hoping to have the space ready for shows in March, 2010.
(which will be an Olympic feat!).
Executive Director
Jay Ono
“We
have been actively searching for new performing space for more
than three years and we are thrilled to have not only a new
space on Granville Island, but a space that we feel is close to
perfect for our needs,” stated Ono. “We are very appreciative of
the support from both CMHC Granville Island and John Keith-King
in this endeavour. The space will require some renovations
(such as a stage) - the plans for which are currently being
developed by Proscenium Architects - but we are sure that the
finished product will be a great home for the Vancouver
TheatreSports League for years to come.”
Board President
Marlie Oden
“Our
new theatre will be a 180-seat venue comprised of mixed seating
(traditional fixed and cabaret seating). The entire organization
is excited about the reality of having our own home. We look
forward to welcoming our audience to this wonderful space and
enhancing their experience,” stated Marlie Oden, Board
President.
