Vancouver TheatreSports® League presented three different parodies of the bug-eating, alliance-making, ratings-breaking TV show, Survivor.
Improv-vivor strands eight improvisers on the remote island of Granville. They have to savagely compete as they try to outwit, outgag, and upstage one another to determine who will be the last Survivor. Two tribes battle against one another for immunity. The tribes have to work together to build scenes, secure laughs, and survive the stage. Every round, the tribes hike deep into centre stage to take part in the tribal council where the defeated tribe votes one of their own off the Island.
Improv-vivor recaptures the tension, the backstabbing, and the smell of the tropical island stage where improvisers have been marooned. The production takes a stab at all the
clichés, mind-games, and "every man/woman for themselves" attitude that TV audiences have come to know so well.
